As the sequel to 'Gnomeo and Juliet' takes further the premise of the previous delivery and wonders what would happen if one day the garden dawns without any of them... This second installment has again as protagonists the gnome couple composed by Gnomeo and Julieta, who this time move to a new garden in London. When they arrive in the city with their friends and family, their main concern is to prepare their new garden for spring. However, they soon discover that someone is kidnapping garden gnomes all over London. When Gnomeo and Julieta return home and discover that everyone has disappeared from there, there is only one gnome they can turn to ... Sherlock Gnomes, the famous detective and protector of the garden gnomes of London, appears with his companion Watson to investigate the case. The mystery will drag the gnomes on an adventure in which they will learn new ornamental figures and explore the unknown side of the city.
The film has been directed by John Stevenson (Kung Fu Panda) from the script written by Ben Zazove (Rompedientes 2). In the original cast, the characters feature the voices of James McAvoy, Emily Blunt, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Maggie Smith, Michael Caine and Johnny Depp, among others. 'Sherlock Gnomes' opens on March 23rd.
Paramount released seven character posters and the first trailer for the continuing animation "Gnomeu and Juliet". The video is available in the version with and without Johnny Depp ("Pirates of the Caribbean"). Appropriately, the version dubbed in Portuguese omits the name of all the Hollywood stars that participate in the production. Already the subtitled version highlights Johnny Depp as the protagonist of the plot, titled "Gnomeu and Juliet: The Mystery of the Garden".
In the plot, Sherlock Gnomes (voice of Depp in the USA) is summoned to investigate the mysterious disappearance of the dwarves of the new garden of Gnomeu and Julieta, that return to be dubbed by James McAvoy (X-Men: Apocalipse) and Emily Blunt (Sicario). The cast also highlights Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years of Slavery) as Watson.
Released in 2011, "Gnomeu and Juliet" grossed more than $200 million worldwide by bringing garden dwarves together in a plot inspired by William Shakespeare's work and Elton John's songs. The composer remains involved in the sequel, as a soundtrack composer and producer of animation. As in the first film, the production is from Rocket Pictures, by Elton John.
The script was written by Kevin Cecil and Andy Riley (from the first film) in partnership with Ben Zazove (from the video Tooth Fairy 2), directed by John Stevenson ("Kung Fu Panda") and will be in theaters March 23rd.
