Maze Runner: The deadly cure brings the return of Dylan O'Brien as Thomas, the young hero of this story, in perhaps his last mission. To find the cure for the virus that is threatening humanity, you must go, together with your group of friends, into the legendary Last City, a place that may turn out to be the most dangerous labyrinth of all.
The cast of Maze Runner: The deadly cure is completed by Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Giancarlo Esposito, Aidan Gillen, Ki Hong Lee, Barry Pepper, Rosa Salazar, Nathalie Emmanuel, Will Poulter, Patricia Clarkson and Walton Goggins.
In Maze Runner: The deadly cure returns as director Wes Ball. The first part was an unexpected blockbuster, which prompted the sale of the saga of books written by James Dashner.
The film begins with the sequence that we saw in the trailer, with a train in motion and a rescue action. Then Maze Runner: The deadly cure comes to new places and answers questions that all fans of the saga expected years ago. To save his friends Thomas must somehow enter the legendary Last City, a labyrinth controlled by WCKD, which could prove to be the deadliest maze of all.
Without revealing anything we can say that in Maze Runner: The deadly cure will be much action, the return of old friends and enemies, sequences where death can be salvation, more and more action, a cure that could change everything, friendships that become legendary, conflicted loves, and a conclusion that will leave the fans talking for years.
The Mortal Heal is the closing of the live-action adaptations that began in 2014, with Maze Runner: Running or Dying. But does the film give a decent ending to these adaptations?
To be honest, The Deadly Cure is a good movie that took a while to get released because the last film in the franchise was released almost 3 years ago, of course, this delay is due to the serious accident suffered by Dylan O 'Brien during the recordings, who delayed the film in about a year, then it is possible that those who follow the films have forgotten the plot, so it is good to watch the previous ones to recall some important events that happen in the last film.
The show takes place shortly after the Fire Test, where Thomas, Newt and Brenda try to save Minho from the clutches of the cruel "CRUEL" (got the pun). The whole plot of the movie revolves around this, the characters doing the impossible to save Minho from the villains, but the plot works this in a well-crafted, fun-to-watch way. Of course, clichés exist, but there are also clichés in the book, so it can not be judged. The story is very well tied, giving us a film without enrolações, complicated plots and strange things happening (like in the book, in some moments), being able to tell the story of cohesive way and that fits in the film that is being shown, making a good adaptation of books to the theaters.
The characters are once again interesting, of course, Thomas is the protagonist, but all the others have their importance, each one has the highlight and its merit, which is incredible, since the cast of the movie is very good, so it is fun to see the characters interacting as a team in each scene presented, with special emphasis on villain Janson, played by Aidan Gillen (the Game of Thrones's Little Pig).
Something that should be commented on are the special effects and practical effects of the film. It seems rather surreal, as they are very well-done, every explosion, every scene of chase, scenes in which the Cranks appeared were extremely well-made (and frightening), making everything more dynamic and realistic.
Despite being released a little late, Maze Runner: The Deadly Cure fulfills its role, delivering a good closure for the franchise and the characters, and proves that the third film in a franchise is always the best (or not).
