We are five days away from SummerSlam and in its issue yesterday, August 14 , Monday Night Raw took a big risk by advancing two of the meetings scheduled for Sunday, which was a considerable change to the WWE SummerSlam 2017 poster, At least as far as the position of the competitors is concerned.
First, the fight for the Cruiserweight Championship was anticipated, resulting in the coronation of Akira Tozawa, who thus ended the long and dominant reign of Neville. The Briton demanded his rematch for Sunday, but now the position has changed and the cruisers have managed to catch some attention, when they were being overshadowed by a recharged cartel.
The meeting between Finn Bálor and Bray Wyatt was also advanced, who apparently could not contain their hunger for fight. In the first hand of his races, the World Eater defeated the Irishman cleanly, after which he took his disturbing attitude to a new level when he bathed in blood. Furious, Bálor announced that he will bring The Demon back in Sunday's rematch.
Finally, after several weeks preparing the ground, former Shields Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins rallied against Sheamus & Cesaro, who will challenge for the Raw Couples Championship at SummerSlam.
The Barclays Center, which will house Summerslam , may have revealed plans for the World Championship match in which Brock Lesnar will defend the title before Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns, and Samoa Joe. If Lesnar loses, he and Paul Heyman will leave WWE.
The Twitter account of the Barclays Center posted a tweet today announcing that Lesnar will appear Monday on Monday Night Raw , which will be held in the same venue. Then the tweet has been deleted.
Currently Lesnar is announced for the Monday Night Raw episodes of August 28 in Memphis and September 11 in Anaheim for No Mercy, the Red Label exclusive PPV to be held on September 24 in Los Angeles and an event WWE Live to be held on September 30 in Winnipeg. All this could indicate that Brock Lesnar will come out of the biggest event of the summer as WWE Universal Champion.
