Taylor Swift's bodyguard assured Friday that he saw DJ David Mueller, the superstar accused of sexual assault, raise the skirt of the singer and place her hand on her buttocks during a photo shoot in 2013.
"When he put his arm behind her, I saw the skirt rise up and her hand went underneath," said Greg Dent, security officer of the pop star, on the fifth day of the trial Which is currently held in Denver, the capital of Colorado (western United States).
Responding to questions from David Mueller's lawyer, Gabriel MacFarland, he described the reaction of the young woman, who was 23 years old, immediately after the incident on June 2, 2013, shortly before she went on stage in The Pepsi Center, in Denver.
"I knew she was uncomfortable. I saw her pushing her skirt down and pulling away to the girlfriend of the radio host, Shannon Melcher, who was posing on the other side of the singer.
Mr. Dent, who worked for the blonde icon for five years, says he has adjusted his reaction to that of his boss: he did not say anything until she continued the photo shoot with various guests.
Mr. McFarland repeatedly asked the safety officer why he had not prevented Mr. Mueller from leaving the area, or why he had not told him at the time.
"I did nothing because she sometimes said I was too hard," he said.
Once the photo shoot ended, the ex-teenage country music prodigy launched to his team: "This type of radio caught my bare buttocks!" Said Dent at the bar.
He explained that he interposed between the singer and her fans when she went to meet them, but considered the photo sessions with guests as more safe and easy to control because the members present were all invited.
David Mueller first sued the singer in September 2015, claiming three million dollars in lost revenues and damages. He said the manager of Swift called his bosses of the country radio Kygo the day after the incident to demand sanctions, which resulted in his dismissal the next day.
The singer counter-attacked a month later and demanded a symbolic dollar and a verdict deeming Mueller guilty.
On Thursday, the pop star was categorical and combative at the helm, reiterating that Mueller had "caught the buttocks (...) at length."
The DJ denies the allegations of the headliner but admits that he touched it, evoking "the rib cage".
