While the Walking Dead is getting ready for season 7, AMC brought us a new fantasy series, which we could love. The Pilot episode collected 2.38 million US viewers, a promising number that the show deserved with its comedy and mysterious outlook.
AMC will air the sixth episode “Sundowner” of Preacher on July 3. While we are waiting for that, the news for its renewal for the second season arrived. Charlie Collier, president of AMC, and AMC Studios SundanceTV, confirmed this. We are eager to share with the fans the first season and, now, a second season." After successful series like The Walking Dead, Mad Men, and Breaking Bad, the series could become the next hit of AMC.
Adapted from a comic book of the same name, Preacher tells the story of Jesse Custer (played by Dominic Cooper), a pastor of a small Texas town with a mission to find God. To make the story more interesting, he is with Cassidy, an Irish vampire and his ex-girlfriend Tulip. Inhabited by a mysterious entity from outer space, Jesse has a strange power: he can control people to obey him, and even take his advice literally.
His mysterious power maybe a perfect fit to his job as someone who persuades people to do what is right or it could be an instrument to awaken his very dark past.
If the season 1 of the series consists of 10 episodes, the second season for its part will be longer and will include 13 episodes in 2017. We are very excited to learn more from this or when the news arrives. Meanwhile, the season 1 of Preacher is currently airing in the US.
